Kasco's FAQ page offers answers to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions received by Kasco. Please check the list below to see if your question can be answered to save you time. As always, you can contact a friendly Kasco representative if you do not find the answer to your question or if the answer does not clear up your uncertainty.

 

Q. Can I buy directly from Kasco Marine, Inc.?

A. No. Kasco Marine, Inc. does not sell directly to the public. Kasco Marine is a family owned company and in order to keep costs down, we sell through a network of friendly, helpful distributors throughout the country. All Kasco equipment is UPS shippable and can be drop shipped directly to your home. Please contact Kasco for a distributor near you.

 

Q. Are Kasco Floating Fountains, Pond Aerators, and/or Water Circulators safe?

A. Yes. All Kasco Floating Fountains, Pond Aerators, and/or Water Circulators are tested by ETL to meet stringent UL and CSA standards for underwater use. Each Floating Fountain model includes a control box that contains a GFCI or GFCB protection. Kasco recommends using a control box on each unit, or plugging units into GFI outlets for protection. NO ONE SHOULD EVER ENTER THE WATER WITH A FLOATING FOUNTAIN, AERATOR, AND/OR CIRCULATOR OPERATING.

 

Q. Are Kasco Floating Fountains, Pond Aerators, and/or Water Circulators tested before being sent out?

A. Yes. Each Kasco Floating Fountain, Pond Aerator, and Water Circulator is individually tested to ensure proper operation before being sent to you. Also, each unit is put through a Hi-Pot Voltage Tester to ensure there is no grounding problems with the unit or cord.

 

Q. Are Kasco Floating Fountains, Pond Aerators, and Water Circulators repairable even out of warranty?

A. Yes. Most Kasco Floating Fountain, Pond Aerator, and Water Circulator can be repaired more economically than purchasing a new unit. The only exception would be older style models with brass tops. You can contact Kasco to find out if your unit is repairable. Occasionally, units may be more expensive to fix than replace, but Kasco will inform you of the costs before the repair is made and leave the decision up to you.

 

Q. Can I run my Kasco 24 hours per day, 365 days a year?

A. Yes and No. All Kasco Floating Fountains, Pond Aerators, and Water Circulators are designed for continuous duty or on demand use and can be run 24 hours per day. If you experience ice over your pond during the winter months, Kasco Floating Fountains and Pond Aerators should be removed and stored in a garage or basement during the winter. Keeping the units in during the winter will super-cool the water by exposing it to the air more than normal and make the ice thicker. Ice can damage the float and/or unit if ice makes its way to the unit. Kasco Water Circulators can be run all year long in any climate since they do not splash the water and will actually keep an area of the pond or lake ice free.
